Remote Therapeutic Monitoring
What is Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM)?
Also known as RTM, remote therapeutic monitoring is the use of FDA-approved devices that collect non-physiological data from the patient and then immediately transmits the data to the provider via secure methods. This includes data pertaining to the musculoskeletal and the respiratory systems. This technology helps to quickly connect the provider to the patient on a frequent basis, resulting in improved access to the patient to help resolve any issues the patients may be experiencing with medications or other prescribed therapies.
Here at First Remote Health Resources, we use remote therapeutic monitoring to help the clinician focus on engaging with the patient more frequently to improve patient access, patients outcomes, and to improve the patient’s overall healthcare. We expand the twice yearly office visit to almost virtual daily on call care giving the provider tremendous access to their patients which has been proven to improve clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction which in turn builds stronger relationships between the provider, patient, and payer.
How Does RTM Benefit Patients and Providers?
RTM is helpful to both patients and providers for the following reasons:
- Personalized Care Plan for each Patient
- The physician sees real-time patient data daily
- Significant reduction of hospitalizations and patient visits to the ER
- Patient outcomes are increased while costly catastrophic events are decreased. When a patient’s quality of life increases, healthcare costs decrease.
- Stronger relationships are built between provider and their patients
- Increased patient satisfaction
